This is a second promo card I designed.
This year I got the opportunity (along with friend and fellow photographer Magida El-Kassis) to judge one of the School of The Photographic Arts: Ottawa grad awards. We were judges for the category titled “The Silver Prize for Outstanding Achievement using Film for Production”. We also got to present the award to the recipient at the grad ceremony this afternoon. The whole experience was really interesting because it was my first time doing anything of the sort. There was a lot of great work to look at and select from, but I want to again congratulate third year SPAO student Olivia Johnston on being the winner! Also, congrats to all the students for their successes this year, and best of luck to all the graduates in all their future endeavors!
So I forgot to mention on this thing that a couple of weeks ago I got the opportunity to attend the Juno’s! I was invited by Craig Cardiff, as you may or may not know he was nominated this year for the album which I shot the cover for! This was very exciting for all of us but especially Craig whom I cannot congratulate enough on all the success he has received with this album (and which he very much deserves). I wish Craig only the best with all his future musical endeavors. Thank you for the invite! It was a great experience, especially as I had never been to an awards show such as this before, it was cool to be a part of.

Tonight is my final class with my winter term students. This course (in addition to my fall course) are major reasons why my posts on this thing have been lacking the last couple of months, as though teaching has been a very enjoyable, interesting and invaluable experience, it is something that has involved a lot of work outside of my regular work hours and so my time for commissions and personal photography has been limited. Thanks to all my students for having been so fantastic to work with and for having made this such a great experience for me. On this note I have recently made the decision to not teach in the spring and summer terms, so I can only hope that this will mean more photography and more blog updates.
